The woman is submitting a lawsuit against City, the police after the alleged assault by the CPD officer

Columbia, SC (WIS) -a woman who allegedly had the wrong meeting with a former police officer in Columbia, files a lawsuit after completion and arrest.

On Wednesday, Caleb Hickmon-Payne, a 26-year-old patrol officer, was arrested and accused of a second degree assault as well as a battery and improper behavior in the office.

The police said that the investigation carried out by the Department of Southern Law enforcement (sled) revealed that Hickmon-Payne proposed a woman for sexual acts after arresting her to transport her to A Alvin S. Glenn Astatat.

During the press conference, the police said that they arrested Taylor Ishmala, a victim because she had an active arrest warrant.

Ishmal is submitting a lawsuit against City of Columbia, the Police Department in Colombia and Hickmon-Payne.

The lawsuit claims that the bench order was released almost a year ago, and court files show that the judge was released by the judge on February 22, 2024. It is claimed that Hickmon-Payne said Ishmal’s sexual comments and proposals when he was detained in his car.

The claim continues that all the parties “violated the clearly established and well -established federal and state rights of the plaintiff (Ishmal), dealing and limiting his person without a probable reason and subjecting him to assault and the use of excessive force.”

Hickmon-Payne was suspended without remuneration on February 6 and ended the next day. Holbrook said they were reviewing his previous arrests to make sure that he did not run away from the standard protocol.

Before he was released, Hickmon-Payne worked for CPD from December 2022.

According to prison, Hickmon made bonds on Wednesday evening
