The Malaysian footballer wounded in the acid attack, Faisal Halim, earns on the national team

Footballer Faisal Halim was referred to the Malaysia team on Thursday, almost a year after his career was questioned after a source of an acid attack, which caused him to hurt him seriously.

The 27-year-old, tenderly called “Mickey”, suffered a fourth degree burns around his neck, shoulder, hands and chest in an attack in the shopping center near Kuala Lumpur in May last year.

He spent three weeks in the hospital and had many operations. No one has ever been convicted of assault.

Halim returned to his club Selangor in August, and in the last weekend he scored a hat-trick in a league match.

Malaysia’s coach, Peter Cklamovski, called Halim in a 27-member composition before the Asian Cup qualifier on March 25 against Nepal.

Halim has been a refuge for his country since his debut in Malaysia in 2019, but he has not appeared since the attack.
