City of Cumming an employee killed in an identified parking lot

Cumming city officials identified an employee killed in an incident at the workplace on Monday morning as Crystal Sawyer, a 44-year-old reserve official in the distribution department and the Cumming Utilities collection.

What we know:

Sawyer was hit by a truck around 7 am on March 10 in the parking lot of the headquarters of the main division on the Dahlonega motorway. She was considered dead at the scene. City officials initially suspended her name to allow her family to notify and saddenly.

What they say:

“As we said on Monday, everyone in the city of Cumming is completely devastated after this terrible accident,” said the administrator of the city of Phil Higgins. “Crystal was a valuable employee with champagne, a social personality who made everyone met with welcome.”

Sawyer worked in the city of Cumming from September 8, 2020, initially in the public utility department before the transfer of its current role in June 2023.

“In addition to professional life, Crystal was a wonderful wife and mother, a beloved daughter, sister and friend so many,” added Higgins. “I can’t emphasize enough how a completely broken heart in the city of Cumming follow the death of Crystal.”

What next:

Sawyer’s family organized a funeral McDonald & Son funeral home in cumming. The visit takes place from 16-18 March 16 at the funeral home. The festival of life will take place later.

In her honor, flags in all cuming city facilities will be flying half staff from Friday, March 14 to Friday, March 21.
