A 37-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after throwing an eight-year-old daughter out of the 2nd floor in Palaspe in Panvel Maharashtra on Wednesday morning.

The senior police inspector, Nitin Thackeray, said that the exact reason for the extreme step remained unclear, but the initial probe suggested a possible marriage dispute and mental stress. “After a quarrel with her husband, the woman is closed with herself and her daughter in the bedroom, who had access to the balcony. Later, the woman threw her daughter out of the balcony and jumped out – said Thakare.

The investigation determined the circumstances that led to the incident. The police registered a murder case based on section 103 Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, calling the husband of a woman who comes from Agra, as an accused.

According to the first information report submitted in the case, a woman, a housewife, apparently struggled with mental health problems.
