A man who allegedly falsified his abduction to his family to take money from his father was arrested in Pune Maharashtra, officials say here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old father still had to pay for securing the exemption after the deposit after he was taken to the Police Station at Bhadohi at Uttar Pradesh from Pune, where he was hiding.

According to officials on March 7, Pradeep Chauhan sent a message to his father, claiming that he was kidnapped and then turned off the phone.

Concerned, his father, frame Shankar Chauhan, reported the police.

The station responsible for the Chauri Police Station said here that during the investigation the location of Pradeep was traced to the limits of the Hinjewadi Police Station in the PimPri-Chinchwad region in Pune.

Pradeep admitted during the interrogation that he had left the house voluntarily without informing anyone and was not kidnapped. The police said he admitted that he had sent a false kidnapping message to his father to get money from him.

The case was registered against him on the basis of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section. His father begged for the release of the Holi festival. Since the allegations were released on the bail, the police gave him a deposit, Kumar added.
