The doctor and family of Chennai found dead suicide after the financial losses of RS 5 Cr

Chennai: Copies examining the death of a doctor, his wife and two sons revealed that they suffered losses in the RS 5 CRER melody in their diagnostic scanning industry.

According to police reports, the dead were identified as Dr. Balamurugan, his wife Sumathi and their two children, Dasavanth (17) and Lingesh (15).

Preliminary investigations suggest that financial anxiety could lead them to their own lives.

Dr. Balamurugan, who owned the diagnostic scanning center, apparently suffered large financial losses, which leads to debts.

His wife Sumathi was a practicing lawyer in a city court.

Their older son, Dasavanth, was preparing for the exams of the XII class board, while the younger son of Lingesh studied in class X.

The tragic discovery was made on Thursday morning, when their driver arrived at their residence.

After receiving the answer from the family, he informed his neighbors.

When they looked through the windows, they saw hanging family members.

Dr. Balamurugan and Sumathi were found in one room, while their sons were in a different one.

After receiving information, the city police threw themselves at the scene and regained the bodies.

The remains were later sent to the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) hospital for posthumous examination.

Suicide remains a serious problem of public health in India. Data from 2022-23 show that Maharashtra registered the largest number of suicides in the country (22 746), followed by Tamil Nadu (19 834) and Madhya Pradesh (15 386).

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnatak and West Bengal Together constituted almost half of all suicides reported throughout the country.

Meanwhile, Nagland registered the lowest number, with only 41 cases.

Psychologist and social worker Dr. Suchitra V. Menon, talking to Ians, emphasized the importance of mental health awareness.

“Many people who take their lives keep their struggles for themselves. If they shared their problems with friends or family, the solutions could be found.

“A greater awareness is needed to help people understand that suicide is not an answer,” she said. She also emphasized that Tamil Nadu remains among the four best states with the highest suicide indicators and called for further campaigns realizing to solve this problem. Ians
