Victim identified in Fatal Schuylkill County House Fire

On Friday, the coroner of the unit of Schuylkill identified a victim of a fatal fire in Porter Township.

The fire was shipped just in the afternoon, on Friday, January 24, 2025, on a report on the house fire at 2183 East Grand Avenue, in the village of Muir near Tower City.

Dispatch said a visitor to the home came home to find smoke from him.

A small fire was found inside and it quickly threw off.

The firefighter’s search for a house led to the victim, and the coroner’s office was asked to the scene with the State Police Fire Service Marshal in Pennsylvania.

According to the Coroner of the County, Schuylkill, David Moylan, the victim was identified as 73-year-old David Copeland.

Coroner Moylan said that the scanning of the CAT protocol was completed in Schuylkill and by consulting with the Marshal of the State Police Fire Brigade, a forensic section was asked and will take place this week at the Duphin Council Forensics Center this week.

Pennsylvania police did not reveal any information about the fire from this post.
