Man dies through suicide in Karnatak among “harassment”


Hubballi (Karnataka):

A 40-year-old man died as a result of suicide in his home, allegedly because of his wife’s harassment, the police said on Monday.

The incident took place in Chamundeshwari Nagar on Sunday, they said.

Tetaru Gollapalli, who worked in a private company, left a suicide note that accuses his wife’s harassment.

The initial investigation revealed that the couple got married two years ago and began to live separately after three months of marriage after a frequent quarrel. His wife also submitted a divorce application and demanded 20 Lakhs RS as maintenance.

In an interview with journalists, the brother of the victim Eshayya said that from Sunday everyone went to church, and when they returned home in the afternoon, he found a hanging brother.

In the suicide note, he pulled his wife responsible for death and said: “Tatus, I’m sorry. My wife kills me. I want my death. “

Looking for justice for his brother, Eshayya said he worked in a private company, but he lost his job three months ago.

“We want justice for my brother. This woman (wife of the deceased) should be arrested. Nobody should suffer in the way my brother suffered. Her older brother also beat him, and there is also a police report on this subject, “he added.

On the basis of the complaint of the victim’s brother, the case based on section 108 (reference to suicide) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against his wife, the police said that the addition of further investigations is ongoing.

Last month, 34-year-old Techie, Atul Subhash, died by suicide in Bengalur after alleged harassment by his wife and her family.
