An 11-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a boat propeller in Palm Beach County

An 11-year-old boy tragically died Saturday evening while boating on Lake Osborne in Palm Beach County, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) confirms.

According to a preliminary FWC investigation, two adults and three minors were aboard a 20-foot pontoon boat that was floating in the water when the vessel’s bow suddenly dropped, throwing one of the minor passengers into the water. The child was then hit by the boat’s propeller.

The 11-year-old girl was fished out of the water and transported to the shore, but she died as a result of her injuries.
